Our pack is supported by parent volunteers and its success is dependent on your involvement. Become a volunteer and share in the excitement of scouting!
Here is a list of positions and a brief description of each. If you are interested at all, please contact Ian Thomas at (585) 217-6832. If the position is already filled, still let us know about your interest as they may need an assistant or they may be looking to transition out of the position.
Pack Committee
Every pack is under the supervision of a pack committee. It can be run with a minimum of three members. However, the larger the committee - the stronger it is. With more members, it is better able to perform all the required functions to ensure a successful pack program.
Committee Chair - (Rob Ryan) Supervises pack operation including chairing monthly meetings, assigning duties to committee members and assuring pack adherence to BSA policies, proper record keeping and financial controls.
Assistant Committee Chair - (Vacant) Assists and fills in for committee chair when needed.
Chartered Organization Representative - (Charlie Escriva) Is a member of and is appointed by the chartered organization (Macedon Center United Methodist Church). Is the direct contact between Pack and the chartered organization.
Secretary - (VACANT) Maintains pack records, records minutes at monthly committee and leader meetings, handles pack correspondence.
Treasurer - (Jessica Rogers) Manages and maintains all pack financial records and bank accounts. Maintains and reports monthly on pack financials. Manages scout accounts.
Budget Chair – (Vacant) Develops and maintains the pack budget. Can be combined with treasurer position if needed.
Advancement Chair - (Kristin Huehn) Manages and coordinates the pack's scout advancement plans, plans recognition ceremonies, and promotes the wearing and proper use of uniform and insignia. Collects den advancement reports and arranges for purchase of badges, pins and other forms of recognition awarded by the pack to Cub Scouts.
Activities Chair - (Sara Vinke) Plans and coordinates the monthly activities. Arranges for applicable permits, and coordinates with outside agencies when needed.
Camping Chair - (Kristy Rommel) Plans and coordinates day camp, resident camp, and pack camping opportunities. Arranges for applicable permits, and coordinates with outside agencies when needed.
Service Project Chair - (Sara Vinke) Plans and coordinates the pack's service projects with outside agencies and the chartered organization.
Fund Raising Chair - (Rob Ryan) Manages and coordinates the pack's annual popcorn sale and any other fundraisers or “in-kind” contributions.
Web Admin - (Kristin Huehn) Maintains pack website with current information from various sources.
Publicity Chair - (Vacant) Composes, and publishes monthly pack newsletter. Provide pack announcements for regular release in the official bulletins, newsletters, web site, etc. Make use of the news media in publicizing and reporting pack events.
Pack Trainer - (Shad Johnson) Conducts orientation of new families and pack leaders, makes sure each new leader and pack committee member is trained for his or her specific position, encourages pack leaders to attend ongoing training, remains current with training material and program updates, keeps track of pack training records.
Program Leaders
Cubmaster - (Shad Johnson) Plans and conducts the Cub Scout pack program, working with the den leaders and the pack committee. Guides and supports den leaders. Leads monthly Pack Meetings and ceremonies.
Assistant Cubmaster (Sara Vinke) - Assists the Cubmaster in planning and conducting the Cub Scout pack program, working with the den leaders and the pack committee. Leads the pack in the absence of the Cubmaster.
Den Leaders - Plan den meetings, coordinate den involvement in pack activities, create opportunities for the scouts to work on advancement, attend monthly leader meetings.
Assistant Den Leaders - Assist the den leaders in planning and supervising den meetings and activities, leads the den in the absence of the den leader.
Activities Coordinators
Coordinates a committee of volunteers in the planning and organization of a special event.
Each of the activities listed above also need a committee of several volunteers.
